Coroner identifies man killed in Trades Towers shooting

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- The man killed in a shooting at the Trades Towers building in Southside has been identified.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office names the victim as Roderick Eugene Meggison, 65.

Police have charged a 68-year-old suspect, Tyrone Edwards, with murder in connection to Meggison's death. Officials say the shooting happened in the building's lobby after the two men argued around 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23.

Edwards is being held on a $75,000 bond in the Jefferson County Jail.
